Trough its DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) platform Netdish can provide TV- and radio-broadcasting market with new solutions for audio/video channel transmission for private reception networks. The service allows point-to-point or point-multipoint transmission of audio/video signal for Live and On-Demand in DVB-S standard. The DVB stream, sent to a satellite is distributed to terrestrial reception stations and made that way available to successive users.
There are several ways to send the signals from content provider to the Netdish owned teleport station:
- Fiber optic clear channel connection or IP stream
- IP VPN via public internet network
- Numeric Direct Circuit (CDN)
- PVC frame relay
- IP MPLS
- ISDN BRI or PRI connections
- Standard IP or DVB satellite connection
- Wireless terrestrial connection
In order to transmit the MPEG or IP standard signal there are two solutions that correspond to the customers’ technical needs and budget plan:
-
LIVE: the signal codified in MPEG-2 arrives to teleport and is sent to satellite by PID DVB that is uniquely assigned by multiplexer and received by remote stations, equipped with standard DVB receiver; the signal that arrives to teleport in IP is transmitted to satellite by PID DVB that is uniquely assigned by encapsulator DVB IP and received by remote stations, equipped with DVB IP receiver.
- On Demand: Audio/video files are saved at the teleport and transmitted later to satellite by DVB stream or IP, according to the needs of the customer. The signals are received by remote stations, equipped with the DVB standard or IP receivers.
